David Lynch’s Perfume Surrealism

In the research I’ve been doing on awesome perfume ads, I realized that the CK Obsession ads I posted were directed by the writer-director-producer extraordinaire, David Lynch. He created iconic American films as Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, and Mulholland Drive, but it was during the 1980’s that he produced his masterpiece, the cult television series Twin Peaks.

Lynch directed other perfume ads that are strangely beautiful and absurd at the same time. Here he is with YSL’s Opium that was banned in the UK because it was perceived to encourage drug use.

Lynch’s commercial created for Gio by Giorgio Armani is a surreal, epic journey of a mysterious and beautiful woman through a night of lust and pure sensual pleasure.
